Mall lunch

We set out to tackle the great errand list for our very empty apartment — top of which was finally sorting out phone numbers at the Movistar store up at the mall. Twenty minutes and one very determined hill later (with two official kid-breaks along the way), we arrived triumphant… only to remember we’d left our passports behind. So much for efficiency. Classic Spain, too, it turns out — apparently every Movistar store makes up its own rules, so round two awaits at a different branch.

Still, the mall redeemed itself: blessed, glorious air conditioning after that sweaty, humid climb, and a food court lunch that hit the spot. Anders was served something suspiciously round and ball-shaped instead of chicken nuggets — we’ve taken to calling them his little egg wheels. Jack and Oliver split mini sliders, and Oliver, ever the opportunist, also helped himself to one of the two sandwiches meant for grown-up sharing. The food was just decent, but the drinks were ice cold, and honestly, that alone made the whole outing worth it.
